Our instructors go through a screening process at AnimSchool, just like they did to get their studio job. We want the best in the industry teaching our students. Abney, Frank

Frank has been in the industry since 2008, getting his first job out of school as a 3d Artist/Animator at a small game company. He later moved on to Lightstream Animation Studios where he animated on a TV show pilot. He then returned to games, animating at Crystal Dynamics on their latest reboot, "Tomb Raider". After almost 3 years at Crystal D, Frank made his way into feature animation at Walt Disney Animation Studios, animating on Disney's upcoming film "Frozen". He's now beginning work on Disney's next film "Big Hero 6". Frank is extremely passionate about animation, acting, and storytelling and wants to share his love of animation with others while helping them grow.

Aclin, Jesse

Jesse Aclin is a self taught Character Designer currently working at Laika Studio. He began his career in Toy Design and eventually fell in love with character design through the “Art Of” books. He gradually made the career change through tons of sketching, independent classes from an awesome community of character designers and Walt Stachfield’s “Drawn to Life”. His past experiences include toy design, commercial and television projects for Fisher Price, Hasboro, Nathan Love and Titmouse respectively. He has also done feature film work for Reel FX on Free Birds and Book of Life.

Alfred, Kent

Kent is a lead animator at Reel FX Animation Studios, with over 7 years of experience on many projects ranging from commercials to feature films. His projects include Free Birds, Looney Tunes, Kung Fu Panda Secrets of the Furious 5, Open Season 2 & 3, Chuck E Cheese, and many more. He is currently leading on Reel FX's next feature film, Book of Life.

Amos, Mike

Mike is originally from Australia and now calls Los Angeles home where he works as an Animator at DreamWorks Animation. He started his career as a Character Artist at Disney Consumer Products developing style guides and unique poses of classic Disney characters for merchandise to be developed all over the world. Mike then started his own company working on original TV shows and video games that he developed for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Microsoft XBOX. The company grew to employ up to 15 staff members and developed a number of their own animated shorts, which were featured in and won awards at major festivals including Annecy, France. Mike came to DreamWorks to work on 'Me and My Shadow' a 2D and CG hybrid film where he animated in both styles. He then went on to work on a new animated short, 'Kung Fu Panda; Secrets of the Furious 5' along with 'Mr Peabody and Sherman' , 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' and is currently animating on 'Kung Fu Panda 3' due to be released late 2015.

Bancroft, Christopher

For the last 8 years, Chris has animated on many films for DreamWorks including Turbo, Guardians, and a few Madagascars. He is known for his ability to bring charm and humor to characters and leaving humbling caricatures on people's desks. 

Bannon, Terence

Terence has 17 years experience in the animation industry. Originally from South Africa, he studied classical 2D animation in Dublin, did an internship at Disney Feature Animation Paris, and then moved to London to start working as a 2D commercial animator at Tandem Films, and then Uli Meyer studios. He taught himself Maya, as 2D work started drying up and moved into 3D animation, first on commercials, then TV series and then games. He moved into feature films, honing his character work and creature animation at a senior level for the past 10 years in film, working at Dneg, Framestore and now MPC. He is currently am a Lead Animator on Disney's Jungle Book for MPC.

Barker, Dan

Dan is Character Development Supervisor at Blue Sky Studios. Dan is an excellent animator at Blue Sky Studios and also lends his great aesthetic to the rigging of the characters there.

Barrett, Justin S

Justin spent seven years as a full-time animator and animation supervisor, working on projects such as Everyone's Hero, TMNT, The Very First Noel, BOZ, and VeggieTales. In 2008 he switched to a TD role, where he spent four years developing tools and providing tech support for the Reel FX animation team, contributing to projects such as Open Season 2 and 3, the Looney Tunes shorts, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and the Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem ride film. In mid-2012 he left Reel FX to pursue other creative projects as a freelancer, and has been teaching Intro to Maya since the spring of 2013. He's the author of the tweenMachine tool for Maya, and the Animate a Face video tutorial series.

Barrios, Ignacio

Ignacio is a Sr. Character TD at Blue Sky Studios, where he has focused on deformation aesthetics and facial rigging. His credits include Ice Age 3 and Rio. He recently finished rigging on Leafmen and is currently working on an unannounced project.
Before coming to the US to pursue his MFA at the Rochester Institute of Technology he was an industrial engineer in his native Venezuela.

Behm, Mark

Mark Behm grew up drawing every day, surrounded by the fantasy,sci-fi, and comic art of the 70s and 80s with an art table next to his Dad’s. Seeing star wars at age 7 spawned the dream of working in special effects in nearly any capacity. He filled his childhood with drawing from comics and Frazetta books, sculpting, casting and stop-motion animating monsters, doing miniature pyro effects, 3d makeup, whatever he could get his grubby little hands into.

After art school, and a couple years as a freelance illustrator, Mark made his way into the animation industry as a feature film animator, freelance illustrator and concept artist for games and film. 


Boismier, Matthew

Matt Boismier is an Art Director and Visual Development artist for animation. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario he studied 3 years of traditional and CG animation where he learned that he didn't actually want to animate for a career, but rather design the shows that his peers would eventually animate. Matt's experience as an animator, freelance illustrator and an award winning caricature artist plays a large role in his artwork today as a designer. His speciality is as a character designer- creating believable, relatable and often attractive characters, but his passion lies in depicting women in their natural elements and skin. Matt is currently living in Vancouver and working as an art director at DHX Media and doing visual development for studios internationally.

Bomba, Sylwia

Sylwia studied "2D/3D Animation" at Digital Academy in Florence. She worked as artwork designer in fashion department for Disney and Pixar, and has done freelance illustration for clients.  Currently she is working  in Art Departament with Neko Producitons as Texture Supervisor on Marvel's game. Also, she gives her art lectures at CD Projekt RED studio in Warsaw.

Bonilla, Tony

Tony is an animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has been animating professionally for over ten years, and has been teaching animation courses for over three years. Some of his credits include 'Zootopia', 'Big Hero 6', 'Rio 2', 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs', the Jimmy Neutron television series,  and multiple game titles. He is currently working on Disney's next animated feature, 'Moana'.

Bover, Manuel

Manuel is originally from Barcelona, Spain. After animating on the award-winning short film Alma, he came to the U.S. seven years ago to pursue his dream of working as an animator at the best studios. He has worked at Rhythm & Hues, Animal Logic, and Sony Imageworks on movies such as Hotel Transylvania, Arthur Christmas, Smurfs, Legend of the Guardians, Alvin, Night at the Museum, and Yogi Bear. Lately he's been working on animating, visual effects, and supervising on commercials, TV series, and feature films at studios like MPC and the Third Floor alongside teaching. Some of his recent credits include Insurgent and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Bradbury, Shad

Shad is currently an animator at Pixar.  His love for animation started one day on the off chance that a little well known show popped onto his television set.  That show was Dragon Ball Z.  From there on in, he was hooked.  He started working in 2d animation, then went into video games, VFX, and then finally feature animation.  Some of the studios he’s worked for include Rhythm and Hues, Tippet, and Sony.  His film credits include a bunch of…unsavory films such as Night at the Museum 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, Aliens in the Attic, Marmaduke, Cats and Dogs 2, and Yogi Bear.  Some of the more palatable films include Curious George, Arthurs Christmas, Hotel Transylvania, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Inside Out, Good Dinosaur, and Finding Dory.  Beside his professional career he also educated himself for about 10 years at three different schools and enjoys passing on what knowledge he’s gained to others.

Brodsky, Jeff

Jeff Brodsky has been working in the industry since 2000 and his most recent work includes "Big Hero 6" and "Get A Horse" at Disney Feature Animation. Jeff has a background in modeling as well as rigging and has a knack for being able to communicate rigging concepts in a way that artists can relate.

Bruno, Nick

Nick is an Animation Supervisor at Blue Sky Studios, now working on Ice Age 4. Nick has been called "the best teacher they've ever had" by several Blue Sky animators. He is known for his excellent grasp of entertainment, style, and caricature.

Burkard, Ian Michael

Ian Burkard is an experienced modeler, currently leading character and environmental work with other veterans at Blue Sky Studios. He supervises and models characters for production use, and is well versed in topology layout for enhanced character performance and render efficiency. Ian is currently supervising and modeling characters and sets for Ice Age 4 and Leaf Men. He is a great modeling talent, with a quick modeling and re-topologizing workflow.

Carter, Tyler

Tyler Carter is a Visual Development Artist at Blue Sky Studios. He has worked on films such as Epic, Ice Age 4, Cars 2, Toy Story 3 and the short film Day and Night. Tyler is currently developing the Peanuts movie slated for 2015.

Coats, Andrew

Andrew is an animator at Pixar. Andrew is a stellar talent with a work flow utilizing extensive use of 2D animation in his planning stage. This brings exceptional graphical appeal to his animation. Andrew is also a gifted modeler and has rigging experience as well.

Cobabe, Adam

Adam is a character artist with over ten years of experience in the animation, visual effects and game industries. Adam has worked at Avalanche Software, Weta Digital, and is currently at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Crawfurd, Tim

Tim Crawfurd has over 12 years of experience working at Pixar Animation Studios, where he worked from 1997 until 2009. The movies he worked on, go from down low in "a Bug's Life" all the way high into the sky in "UP". Having heard that it's good to stop at a high point in ones career, Tim decided that it was a good time to start a new phase in his life. He is currently freelance working as an animator and a teacher. He has recently worked at PixarCanada on a new short film featuring Toy Story characters.

Dabholkar, Rahul

Rahul Dabholkar is originally from Mumbai, India and fluently speaks English, Hindi and Marathi. He started his career in 1996 in 2D animation and worked as a 2D lead Animator for 4 years. In the year 2000 Rahul decided to make a switch to the 3D world. Since then he has worked at some of the biggest studios like Walt Disney Animation, Framestore, ILM, DreamWorks and Sony Pictures Imageworks. He held Senior to Lead Animator positions on Blockbuster movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in wonderland, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 & 2, Wreck it Ralph, The Tale of Despereaux, Tangled Ever After Short film, Prep and Landing short film, Arthur Christmas, Smurfs and Green Lantern. He was Supervising Animator at DreamWorks –working between Glendale and India location on Penguins of Madgascar movie. His extremely versatile and unique style of animation is a result of over 18 years of experience in both VFX and full CG movies.

Dastrup, Hans

Hans is currently a Supervising Animator at DreamWorks Animation where he animated on the Kung Fu Panda movies, The Croods, and Boss Baby. He started his career in 2003 at Blue Sky Studios, working on several films including Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age 2 and 3, and Robots. Hans is a versatile animator - capable of subtle acting, physical shots, and comedic performances.

Delhougne, Jean-Luc

Originally from Belgium, Jean-Luc now lives in Montreal where he's the Animation Supervisor for Blue Spirit Canada, a studio specializing in TV shows and animated feature films.
He started his career as a 3d generalist on several commercials then decided to specialize in character animation. 
Since then, he has been lucky enough to animate with/supervise talented people from all over the world on a wide range of international projects: feature films, short films, TV shows, documentaries and commercials.
His latest credits include the Oscar winning short film "Mr Hublot" and the multi-award winning TV show "The Mysterious Cities of Gold".
Jean-Luc has a special relationship with AnimSchool as he could take part in its very first beta class, he loved it and did not hesitate a second when he was asked to stick around and share his passion and knowledge with the students!


Doble, Matthew

Matthew Doble is an Animator working at Blue Sky Studios. He's worked on films such as Ice Age : Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Rio, and is currently animating on Ice Age : Continental Drift.

Ekren, Dylan

Dylan Ekren is a character modeling supervisor currently at Walt Disney Feature Animation, and has worked on iconic characters for films like Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, most recently, Big Hero 6.
One time, he stayed up all night and wasn't even tired.

Ellison, Charles

Currently creating art for DreamWorks Animation as a Modeling Supervisor, Charles has enjoyed a rich career in the Feature Animation world. Having worked on franchises such as the “How To Train Your Dragon” and “Kung Fu Panda” series amongst others, Charles has been fortunate to share his creative spirit and collaborate with talent from all over the world.

Fecih, Samy

Samy grew up in Paris passionate of cinema, where he worked for 3 years selling tickets and cleaning screening rooms before getting his first job in the industry, since then he worked in 5 different countries in VFX, Commercials, Tv Series and Feature Films for the studios Teamto, Attitude Studio, Framestore, Double Negative, The Mill, Kandor Graphics and Dreamworks Animation, on the projects Zoe Kezako season 2, 9, Narnia 2: Prince Caspian, The Tales of Despereaux, Primeval season 3, Where the Wild Things Are, Avatar, Ironman 2, Sorcerer's Apprentice, the 2 last Harry Potter movies, then he was lead animator on Justin and the Knights of Valor, and lead character for the octopi on the movie The Penguins of Madagascar. After this, he took 1 year off traveling through the Americas from Alaska to Ushuaia, and now he's back in Paris, where he works at Mikros Image on the Dreamworks movie "Captain Underpants".
Samy has been teaching and lecturing now for 6 years in many schools including Filmakademie, The Animation Workshop and Les Gobelins. He also is the founder of the event "Bring Your Own Animation" in London.
Samy is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.


Fievet, Jean Dominique

Jean-Dominique "JD" Fievet was raised in Lille, northern France, and graduated from Supinfocom school of digital filmmaking in 2000. After a short period of time working in a small animation studio in Luxemburg, he moved to Southern California in 2003 to join Blur Studio, where over a period of four years, he quickly established himself as an animation supervisor, and oversaw various trailers, cinematics and commercials for a diverse range of video games. He also directed the animation on Blur's acclaimed short film "A Gentlemen's Duel". He then moved on as a senior animator for major VFX and animation studios such as Rhythm and Hues, ReelFX and Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he helped on various films such as The Golden Compass, The Smurfs, G-Force, Arthur Christmas, and Hotel Transylvania. JD is currently Head of Animation at MPC Los Angeles.

Fus, Krzysztof

After finishing modeling on Disney's Wreck it Ralph, Krzys was tasked with assisting Walt Disney Imagineering with the creation of sculpted figures which would then be used to create animatronics for rides. He is currently working at BlueSky Studios on Peanuts and Rio 2 as a modeler. Krzysztof's film credits include: Batman Dark Knight Rises, Wreck it Ralph, Mickey Short: Get a Horse!, Rio2, and Peanuts

Gabor, Jeff

Lead animator, Jeff Gabor, is currently an animation character lead for Blue Sky Studios' upcoming film Epic. After studying animation at the Art Institute of Colorado, he began his feature film career with Blue Sky Studios working on Ice Age: The Meltdown in 2005. He has since worked on Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Rio and was animation co-supervisor on Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas. Jeff was nominated for an Annie award for Outstanding Character Animation in a Feature Film in 2008 for his work on Horton Hears a Who, and won an Annie award in 2011 for his work on Rio.

Gallagher, Dave

AnimSchool was founded in 2010 by David Gallagher, animator, rigger and former Character Development Supervisor at Blue Sky Studios. With over 18 years of industry experience, David animated on three Ice Age movies, Horton Hears a Who, Robots, and Rio. He rigged the face of the beloved Ice Age character, Scrat. He oversaw the quailty of character rigs for each film, and for the last two films, has overseen the performance quality of all character models.

Havran, Martin

Marty has 21 years of industry cg modeling experience.  He has worked at Sony, Disney, Laika and at Dreamworks as a modeler, modeling supervisor and concept artist on projects that include Species, Contact and Space Jam. Kung Foo Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens, Over the Hedge, Puss and Boots, Madagascar 3, Peabody & Sherman and How to Train Your Dragon 2.  Marty has also taught and mentored students since 2004 as adjunct faculty at Art Center and Oregon State University as well as mentoring students at NYU’s CADA program, Rochester Institute of Technology and the Art Institute of the Inland Empire. Having a background in illustration he has a passion for drawing, painting and sculpting as well as digital media.

Heller, Sabine

Sabine has great aesthetic and technical skills. As a Senior Character Technical Director, she is rigging main character faces and bodies at Blue Sky Studios for movies like Rio and Ice Age. Her degree is from School of Visual Arts in New York, where she also taught a graduate seminar during her studies. She was Lead Technical Director at Spans & Partner in her native Germany.

Herrera, Michael

Michael has a passion for animation and storytelling. He trained as an Apprentice at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and has worked as a story artist for Reel FX, and Rovio Animation. He continues to work in many capacities as a freelance artist. With a background in both animation and theatre, he tries to bring life to stories in as many ways possible.

Hindman, Brien

Brien is currently an environmental modeling supervisor at Disney Animation.  Previously, he was a senior modeler at Blue Sky Studios as well as the environmental modeling lead for Ice Age 3.

Films Brien has worked on include:

Moana, Big Hero 6, Frozen, Wreck It Ralph, Epic, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Rio, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Horton Hears a Who!, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Robots.

Hobbiebrunken, Ryan

Ryan Hobbiebrunken has been working as an animator for 5 years for films such as Wreck-It Ralph, Horton Hears a Who, Secrets of the Furious Five, Ice Age 3, Rio, and Ice Age 4.

He started his journey at the Art Institute of Colorado, where he discovered animation was an exciting option.  He switched over to an online school, where he was able to focus solely on animation and loved that he was being taught by working professionals.

Ryan continues to learn from surrounding industry artists and friends who keep the inspiration going. Ryan is here to give back what he received so he can help excited, aspiring artists develop their skills in this art-form.  

Huling, Ken

Currently hard at work as a character lead for Nigel (the main antagonist) in Blue Sky Studio’s Rio 2, Ken’s character work spans almost a decade of pop culture icons and blockbuster films including Epic, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Meet the Robinsons. Since graduating from the Academy of Art University in 2004, Ken has also had a hand in several animated shorts in which he animated Road Runner, Coyote, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and Po.

Huth, Bobby

I graduated from Ringling School of Art in 2007.  Went to Bluesky Studios to work on Horton Hears A Who as a Technical Assistant to the animation team.  Then had my first animation job on Open Season 2 working remotely for ReelFX.  Came back to Bluesky as an Animator on IA3 and RIO, as well as a little pre-production on IA4.  In July of last year I headed out to the west coast to work on Disney's Wreck-It Ralph as well as the short Paperman.  Currently I am beginning work on their next film Frozen set to release in November 2013.  

Jedor, Cyril

Cyril has been working in the industry since 2009, he started his carrier as a 3D layout artist at Pinka Studio in France, working on multiple tv series for Nickelodeon, France TV etc.
Then he got hired by MOONDOG Animation and serves as Concept Artist until today. 
His role in the company is diverse. For the most part, art related - concept art, matte painting, character design - but his capacity as 3D generalist makes him a valuable asset in many aspects of film production.

Kakac, Tyler

Tyler currently works at Blue Sky Animation Studios as a character animator. Receiving his formal animation education from Full Sail University he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in computer animation in 2010. Since graduating, Tyler has worked on numerous projects including; Ferdinand, Ice Age: Collision Course, The Peanuts Movie, Nickelodeon's Wallykazam!, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Every day furthers his education and supplies essential opportunities to grow and refine his animation skills.  He daily uses his passion for animation and background in traditional art to challenge himself in his art and career. 

Kerou, Anthea

For the last 8 years Anthea has worked on many animated features such as "Shrek 4' at Dreamworks, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" at Sony, "Horton Hears a Who" at Blue Sky, "Planet 51" at Ilion, and "Bolt" and "Meet the Robinsons" at Walt Disney Animation Studios. She has been teaching animation for 3 years. She is currently freelancing is Los Angeles, California.

Labrador, Luis

Luis had a successful career at Sony Pictures Imageworks as a Senior Character Modeler in the visual effects department. After leaving Sony Pictures Imageworks he took a position with DreamWorks Animation as a Senior Modeler in the animation department. Luis currently holds a position as Modeling supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios .

Luis has carved his name in the film industry as a 3D visual effects and Animation artist for more than 15 Years. His talent has gained international recognition and the films he has worked on have been credited with several prestigious awards and nominations including One Oscar for Best achievements in Visual Effects , 2 Oscars for Best Animated Features , One Oscar for Best Animated Short Film and seven Academy Award nominations (Best Animated Feature Film, Best Achievements in Visual Effects and Best Visual Effects).  Some of his film accomplishments include: Pirates of the Caribbean, Van HelsingSpiderman 2, X-Men 2, I am Legend, Watchmen, Superman Returns, Monster House, The Matrix Revolutions, Open Season, Surfs Up, Haunted Mansion, Cursed, Peter Pan, How to Train Your Dragon, Megamind, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss in Boots,Turbo, Wreck-it-Ralph, Frozen, Feast, Planes: Fire & Rescue, Big Hero 6 and Frozen Fever.

He is currently working on the new film Gigantic for Disney feature Animation scheduled to be released in 2018.


Lazare, Jeremy

Jeremy has been working as an animator since 2000 and is currently at Blue Sky Studios. He began his career in the UK, working on a variety of high profile VFX films including many of the Harry Potter series. In 2009 Jeremy moved to the US… since then he has worked on a range of feature animations including Arthur Christmas, Hotel Transylvania, Epic, The Peanuts Movie and most currently Ferdinand.

Lazzarini, Robert

Robert Lazzarini is a Character Animator at Reel FX in Dallas, Texas. While there he has worked on Reel FX's second feature, The Book of Life, as well as the film Rock Dog. He is currently working on their next project. He values a strong understanding of mechanics and has a passion for always pushing his and others' work. 

Leggiero, Carmelo

Carmelo, Italian and former pizza maker, discovered the CG world while serving pizzas in New Zealand to Weta Digital customers! He decided to drop the dough, tomato sauce and mozzarella, take a plane back to Italy and start learning 3D.
His goal has always been working for Weta Digital, the company that started it all for him. After working in commercials, TV series, promos, DVD specials, Animated Feature Films, Videogames and even medical animations around Europe, where he also worked for MPC on Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Trader, Carmelo came back to NZ and joined Weta in September 2010!He is a Senior Creature/Character Animator and has worked on movies such as Rise of The Planet of the Apes, Tin Tin and the Secret of the Unicorn , Prometheus, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, IRON MAN 3, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Furious 7, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 , currently working on Disney's Jungle Book and Krampus

Lementy, Yuri

Yuri is currently a Character Animator at Sony Imageworks. Originally from Brazil where he started his career in 2003. He has been working in Canada for the past 7 years and has had the opportunity to work on projects like Storks, Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2, Open Season 2 and Smurfs. 


Lima, Daniel

Daniel is a rare talent who can animate and rig at film-quality levels. He animated on District 9, and has rigged and animated on many projects. He has supervised on projects in his native Brasil, and is passionate about 3D.

Lopez, Ramon

Ramon is a skilled environmental modeler at Blue SkyStudios. He formerly taught 3D modeling in Spain.

Lyman, Eric

Eric currently works at Dreamworks Animation in San Francisco. Previously he worked with Animal Logic in Sydney and Laika in Portland. He has worked as a modeler on such films as Coraline, Legend of the Guardians, and most recently Puss in Boots. Currently he is modeling for 'Mr. Peabody and Sherman', due out in 2013.

Malolo, Alexiss D

Alexiss is a Character Animator at Reel FX Animation Studios. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, she graduated from Brigham Young University and then went on to study animation. She landed her first dream job in the animation industry as an animator at Blue Sky Studios working on Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 2008. Since then she has gone on to work at Lumenas Animation Studios and Reel FX Animation Studios, working on films including The Book of Life, Free Birds, and the upcoming film, Rock Dog. 

Before becoming an animator she was a psychiatric technician in a lock-down unit of a children’s hospital, an Adobe specialist, a pottery instructor, an IT girl, and worked at a toy store. Now she's an animator who is into photography, travel, getting outdoors as much as possible, and a strong believer of going after what you're really passionate about.

Mandell, Wesley

Wes has contributed to over a dozen feature films since 2003 as an animator for Industrial Light & Magic, Blue Sky Studios, Dreamworks/PDI, and most recently Reel FX. Throughout his animation career, he has worked on a vast array of projects and with different stylistic approaches. His experience has awarded him the opportunity to produce animation from the realistic, physical animation required for Iron Man 2, Terminator Salvation, Star Wars Episode 3, etc.. to the more cartoony, playful animation in Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age 2 & 3 to name a few. As the Directing Animator on Free Birds and the Head of Animation on The Book of Life, Wes discovered a greater passion for sharing his knowledge and experience with other animators and students dedicated to improving their craft.

Mattesi, Mike

Michael Mattesi has been a professional production artist and instructor for almost 20 years with clients including Pixar, Walt Disney Feature Animation and Consumer Products, LeapFrog, Marvel Comics, Hasbro Toys, ABC, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, SVA, Art Center, Beijing University and many other schools.

May, Brandon

Brandon is a Lighting TD at Blue Sky Studios.  He has worked on Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Rio, Ice Age Continental Drift, Epic, and now Rio 2. He previously worked at Disney Interactive as a world builder for the video game Bolt.

McMahon, Adam

Adam is in his seventh year of modeling for Blue Sky Studios. Most of his time there is focused on bringing character designs into the third dimension by either directly modeling them in Maya or first exploring the forms in Zbrush before creating the production ready asset in Maya. He also models props and sets.  At Blue Sky, he has worked on the following films: Epic, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Rio, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Horton Hears a Who! as well as a couple films currently in production.  Prior to Blue Sky, he worked two years at Glueworks Animation, a small studio in Charlotte, NC that created direct to DVD animated features.  There he was able to help in many areas in addition to modeling, such as design, lighting, materials, compositing, and a bit of rigging.

Mecca, Tony

Tony has been a professional animator for over 10 years now spanning major feature films, games and most recently, AR. 

He has animated on over 10 major feature films including everything from VFX heavy realistic style shows like Snow White and the Huntsman, RIPD, and X-Men Days of Future Past (lead animator at Rhythm and Hues and Digital Domain) to fully animated cartoony blockbusters like Rio 2 and Hotel Transylvania 2 (senior animator at Sony Pictures Imageworks and animator at Blue Sky Studios).  Before feature film, he worked in video games animating everything from super realistic combat simulations to sci-fi fantasy adventures.  He was a primary member of the team that developed the critically acclaimed and award winning Conduit first person animation system.

Tony is currently working at Magic Leap developing what the next generation of animation and storytelling will be for the next evolution of cinematic entertainment. 


Morris, Gwilym

After winning European Junior Animator Award 2001 for his short film Bmovie, Gwilym was given the opportunity to work at Framestore on such films as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Two years later he headed to New Zealand to work at Weta on Lord of the Rings Return of the King and King Kong, returning three years later to work at Double Negative where he continues to work as a lead animator on such films as In the Heart of the Sea and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Moulayess, Louaye

Louaye grew up watching cartoons and playing video games. Later in life, he traveled to San Francisco where he pursued his dream of becoming an animator. Some examples of his credits include: Cars 2, Ice age 4, Epic, Peanuts, Rio2, Ice Age 5 and Ferdinand. Louaye hopes his animation will inspire people the same way it inspired him. Louaye also hates writing his bio in the third person. I hate this. that's right. It's me. I've been writing this whole thing. Hello!

Murdock, Michael

Michael Murdock grew up in southern California where he was surrounded by commercial production and media through his father's producer/director career. Michael went on to pursue his degree in Computer Science at BYU in Utah where he emphasized in animation. He now works as a lighting TD at Blue Sky Studios.

Osborn, Keith

Keith is a freelance animator with 10 years of experience in various disciplines of animated filmmaking, specializing in character animation, for numerous industries including film, television, commercial and video games. Recent projects include The Nut Job, the Despicable Me Universal Studios Ride, the Warner Brothers theatrical Looney Tunes cartoons and the 2012 Oscar winning short, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.

Pagoria, Chris

Chris Pagoria is a Character TD at Blue Sky Studios.  He has worked on Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, Leafmen and is currently rigging on an unannounced project.  Previously he has worked at Rhythm & Hues and also spent 2 years in television animation.  He grew up in Florida and graduated from The University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Paquette, Pete

Pete has over 12 years of professional animation experience.  He spent almost 8 of those years at Blue Sky Studios where his credits include Robots, Horton Hears A Who, Rio and Ice Age 2,3 & 4.  He left Blue Sky in 2011 to try his hand at video games where he worked for Irrational Games on Bioshock Infinite while freelancing for Reel FX on "Freebirds" and "Book Of Life".  Pete is also is a former Sgt in the US Marines.  New England, Black Sabbath and Retro Gaming are a few of the things outside of family and animation that makes his world turn.

Perret, Florian

Florian Perret is originally from France. He is currently a modeler at Walt Disney Animation Studios  in Burbank. He has previously worked at Dreamworks Animation on "Turbo" as Environment Modeler ,  Blue Sky Studio where he was modeling characters, environments, and props on "Rio" and "Ice Age: Continental Drift" Having spent 5 years living and working in Japan ( credits including "Animatrix, Second renaissance ", " Hottarake" , "Basquash " ), surfacing artist at Animal Logic in Sydney on "Legend of the Guardians" , instructor in China at Beijing University and Vietnam ( Sparks ) he gained strong CG Generalist and Multi-cultural skills. It's been a 15-year journey in the animation industry that still amazes him everyday.

Phillips, Tyler

Tyler is a Character Animator at DreamWorks Animation originally from San Diego, California. After earning his bachelors in Graphic Design, he got his big break in the industry as a compositor in live action working in Prague in 2005. He then did a ninja back flip into character animation and landed a job working at Blue Sky Studios on Ice Age 3. He then went to work at Sony Games on God of War III just before getting his dream job at DreamWorks Animation working on How to Train Your Dragon, Megamind, Puss In Boots, Madagascar 3 and Rise of the Guardians.

Randall, Luke

 Luke is originally from Australia but now resides in Los Angeles, California where he works as a character animator at Dreamworks Feature Animation. He got his start TV and games before moving into features where he has completed animation on Shrek Forever After, Megamind, Puss in Boots, Turbo, Peabody and Sherman, Home, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Boss Baby. In addition to  character animation Luke is a total story addict, consuming novels, comics, movies, tv and documentaries by the truckload.

Rhinemiller, John Paul

Currently I am a Lead Cinematics Animator at Vicarious Visions, Activision Blizzard, currently working on Crash Bandicoot NSane Trilogy and The Destiny Franchise. Before VV I was a Lead Animator at Rhythm & Hues and had the chance of working with both creature and character animation. Having both film and game experience gives me a great understanding on a wide range of animation styles. I have worked on titles such as Hop, Yogi Bear, Alvin and The Chipmunks, The Skylanders Franchise and Red Dead Redemption.

Richard, Michael Philip

Mikey graduated from Pratt institute and spent the first 7 years of his professional career in the video game industry, ranging from titles in Mechwarrior, Playboy, Lord of the Rings and Dungeon's & Dragons franchises.  He started at Blue Sky Studios as a temp animator on IA3 then left to go back to video games, working at Insomniac on the new Ratchet and Clank: All for One video game.  Coming back to Blue Sky as a fulltime animator he shortly worked on Rio then transitioned over to preproduction on IA4.

Mikey attributes his love of body mechanics/physicality shots to his past in video games... and all he listens to is techno music.

Roberts, Thom

Thom is a senior animator at Blue Sky Studios and has been animating professionally for over 10 years. He has worked on a wide range of productions including fully animated features, visual effects films, and commercial productions. Before joining the animation department at Blue Sky in 2008, Thom spent several years at Los Angeles based Rhythm & Hues. He received a 2014 Annie Award nomination for "Character Animation in a Feature Production" for his work on Blue Sky's "Epic".

Robinson, William

Bill has over eight years of experience working in character design for video games and children's books. He has worked on projects for Dreamworks, Illumination, Random House, Little Brown Books, Kabam, and Three Rings. He started his own mobile game company in 2012, and now works as Art Director at Will Wright's new game company, Syntertainment. Bill has illustrated five books for children, including a new tie in book for Dreamworks' Peabody and Sherman. He loves creating wild characters and stories and continues to develop his own properties for TV and film on the side.

Ruffin, MontaQue

MontaQue currently works at Pixar Animation Studios. His credits include the Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, and currently, Cars 3. Prior to Pixar he worked at MPC in Montreal, where he did VFX work on Cinderella (2015) and Terminator Geniysis. MontaQue’s journey as an animator began at the School of Visual Art in New York. As an undergraduate, he founded an animation club that continues to this day, and interned at studios such as FrameStore and Walsh Family Media. MontaQue's senior thesis short film, Puggums, was accepted into many international film festivals, including Cannes.

MontaQue is passionate about both animation and the art of film making. Outside of work he is an avid student of drawing and enjoys spending time outdoors.


Rush, Ben

With 20 years of industry know-how serving as a supervising animator and supervising character technical director, Ben's passion for bringing memorable characters to life is demonstrated in a portfolio of work spanning 18 of the most successful animated movies in history including Turbo, Peabody and Sherman, Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, Shrek Forever After, Monsters vs Aliens, Madagascar 1 and 2, Shark Tale, Bee Movie, The Animatrix, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, among others.

Sakai, Marcelo

Marcelo is a passionate Brazilian animator with industry experience in both feature film and games. Currently animating on Angry Birds at Sony Pictures Imageworks, he had previously worked at Blue Sky, EA Visceral Games, ReelFx, and Rhythm & Hues. He has been credited on projects such as Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2, Rio, Arthur Christmas, Open Season 3 and Dead Space 2.

Sanghrajka, Mr Nico

Nico is originally form Germany where he studied film and media with an emphasis on computer graphics and animation. He has focused on rigging for the past 16 years. Over the the course of the last 10 years he has moved back and forth between London and the US to work at some of the biggest names in the industry like Framestore, Dreamworks, MPC and ILM. His credits include movies such as Disney's Junglebook, Deadpool, Star Trek: Beyond, Megamind, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. Besides working as a rigger he has also been sharing his knowledge, teaching rigging and scripting for the past 6 years at animation schools across Europe and AnimSchool.

Schauf, James

After 9 years of serving his country, he left the United States Air Force to pursue his dream of becoming a professional artist. His career in the entertainment industry started as a character modeler on Iron Man 2. Since then, he has continued his career in film, television, commercials, games, theme parks, VR and even fashion. His passion includes the full spectrum of modeling and texturing, from high poly to low, organic to hard surface and even enjoys UVs and retopologizing. 

James has worked for clients and projects such as Disney Animation Studios, Moana,  Big Hero 6, Marvel, Legacy Effects, Iron Man 2, Psyop, Clash of Clans, Skechers, Aaron Sims Company, and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. 

He is currently a visual development artist at Paramount working on an unannounced project that will be released in 2018.


Scheiber, Valerie

Valerie is a senior animator at Magic Leap, based in South Florida.  After getting her start in animation at Rhythm & Hues Studios, she went on to work at such studios as Digital Domain, Blue Sky Studios, and Sony Pictures Imageworks.  At these studios, Valerie was able to gain a wide variety of experience working on both heavy VFX driven shows like X-Men: Days of Future Past, RIPD, and Snow White and the Huntsman to cartoony blockbusters including Hotel Transylvania 2, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and Rio 2.  


Segarra, Dan

Dan Segarra started his career at K-Mart in the electronics department, watching animated films on the TV displays as he stocked the shelves with DVD's he dreamed about animating one day. This far-fetched dream was not a very popular one to those around him but he was hopeful that one day someone would stock the shelves with a DVD that he was a part of. After a few years, and with much practice, feedback, perseverance, and the will to succeed, Dan accomplished one of his goals and animated on the film Open Season 2 at Reel FX. That opened the door to more opportunities at Rhythm & Hues, Sony, and Blue Sky to work on Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, The Yogi Bear Movie, Arthur Christmas, Ice Age 4, Epic, Rio 2, and currently The Peanuts Movie.

It has been a long road from his days at K-Mart but they will always be a part of who he is today. He is grateful for the teachers and friends who have helped him along the way and he hopes to help others reach their aspirations as well.

Shikuma, Garrett

Garrett is an Animator at Blue Sky Studios who's worked on such films as Peanuts, Rio 1 & 2, Epic and the Ice Age series. Before joining Blue Sky, Garrett has over four years experience at Electronic Arts: Los Angeles animating on the Medal of Honor series and other titles. His love of drawing and caricature brings a strong graphic quality to his work.

Shorey, Kevan

Kevan is an Annie-nominated Animator and has worked at Dreamworks Animation since 2003, having started as an Assistant Animator on Shrek 2. His credits include the "Madagascar" films, "How To Train Your Dragon" and "Megamind". He is currently working on Dreamworks' "Larrikins". An active member of the Animation community, Kevan regularly contributes to discussions of the craft on Twitter @kevanshorey.

Showers, Jarrod

Jarrod has been a videogame animator since 1997 with 12 shipped AAA titles including Star Wars: Jedi Academy, X:Men: Origins: Wolverine, Wolfenstein, Doom 4, and WildStar!  
He is currently at Raven Software, working on Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.  He has experience as a gameplay animator and a cinematics animator in both hand-key and motion capture settings.

Smith, Heidi M

Heidi began drawing at the age of four, and has not stopped since. From the beginning, a huge inspiration for her has been her mother, a painter of Russian descent. Heidi graduated from the character animation program at CalArts in 2008, and was the character designer and conceptual designer for ParaNorman, for which she won an Annie award in 2013. She has worked on various projects for Laika, and has freelanced at studios including The Jim Henson Company, Passion Pictures, and Starburns Industries.

Snow, Alexander

Alex is an animator at Laika. He's been animating professionally for 6 years, and has been lucky enough to work on a bunch of cool projects including Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Hotel Transylvania, Arthur Christmas, The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2, Oz: The Great and Powerful, Smurfs, Red Dead Redemption, Crysis 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 and a few others. 

Strick, David

Dave Strick currently models for DreamWorks Animation. Previous experience includes EA and Blue Sky Studios with film credits on Ice Age 2, Horton Hears a Who, Rio, and Ice Age 4.

Sullivan, Sean K

Sean's first work as a professional artist began in 1979 as a scenic artist at a stage theater. Although he moved on to other non-art jobs, he continued freelancing as an artist, cartoonist, and illustrator until 1990 when he moved to Los Angeles to begin his career in animation. While working at the Don Bluth Studios in Burbank, CA. Sean advanced from Inbetweener to Assistant Animator. Before long he was also learning layout and background painting. In 1993, Sean started with the Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios in Orlando, FL. as a Senior Background Painter. By 2004 Sean had enjoyed experiences in storyboarding, mentoring, art directing, visual development, and supervising the backgrounds department. Since leaving the Disney studios, Sean has freelanced in theme park design and concepting, teaching at the college level, storyboarding and production design for motion pictures, as well as continued involvement in animation projects. Sean has a BFA in illustration. In his 40 + years of experience Sean has earned three THEA awards for themed entertainment excellence, has over 15 film credits, and countless other projects to his credit.

Tan, Melvin

Animation Supervisor Melvin Tan is originally from Singapore.
Melvin came to the U.S. to study 3D Animation in the Academy of Art University before joining Blue Sky Studios in 2004 to work on "Robots" as a Junior Animator. 
He then worked as an Animator and Senior Animator on Ice Age 2, Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age 3, Rio, Ice Age 4, then became Animation Supervisor on Epic!

Vanseth, Steve

Steve has been working as a professional animator since 2006. He graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Computer Graphics and started working at a small start-up animation company. After about a year and a half he went on to work in the video game industry at Vicarious Visions and animated on such games as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Skylanders: Spyros Adventure. While there, he also graduated from Animation Mentor as he pursued his dream of being a feature animator. Steve now works at Blue Sky Studios and has animated on the films Ice Age:Continental Drift, Epic, Rio 2 and is currently working on the Peanuts movie!

Vitolins, Eriks

In 2003, Eriks graduated with a BFA in Fine Art and Computer Animation from the Academy of Art University.  Soon afterwards, he was employed at Rhythm and Hues Studios starting as an Animation intern. Between 2003-2014, he quickly move up the ranks, as a lead and senior animator contributing to award winning films such as Narnia, Happy Feet, The Golden Compass and Life of Pi.  Because of his technical skills, Eriks also assumed roles to design and develop more efficient workflows, rigs, and tools for R&H's Animation Department.

In 2016 was hired by BlueSky Studios as a Technical Director, to evaluate and improve workflows and utilities for their Animation department.

Eriks is also the founder and lead developer of RGB Notes (rgbnotes.com) and continues to develop tools to enhance the workflow for artists worldwide.

His hobbies include playing guitar, writing music, record-collecting, boardgames, woodworking, gardening, hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, coffee-drinking, programming of all sorts (python, php, html, css, mysql, javascript, mel, ...)

Widup, Todd

Todd Widup has worked in vfx and animation for over 15 years, starting off on regional ads and promotional videos before moving to Vegas and working at the legendary Westwood Studios as a cinematic modeler. After Vegas and 10 years of globe trotting and working as a motion capture TD and Rigging TD on various projects and studios, he settled into corporate life at Microsoft as Sr Technical Artist-Characters for MS Studios Central Teams, developing face rigs and pipeline tools for various projects during the Xbox One launch. Recently, Todd has shifted over to NVidia as Lead Technical Artist on some internal projects designed to really push what is believed possible on a real time graphics system.

Yoder, Walter L

Walter is a character TD at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His career has allowed him to work on character setup, character FX, and character pipeline on multiple films and commercials. Walter brings a ton of technical knowledge to the team and can communicate complex programming concepts in ways that artists can understand. 

Young, Trevor

Trevor is a character animator at Blue Sky Studios. There, he has worked on such films as Rio 2, Epic, and Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. He graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design where he exclusively studied hand drawn animation, but made the transition to cg at Reel FX. Trevor's love of the classic animated films and shorts have infused a graphic quality and strong theatrical posing into his work. He is also kind of obsessed with baseball.
